Jevon Wameling has pleaded guilty to second degree manslaughter in the death of his infant child Levon.

In accordance with the plea agreement, Wameling will receive the maximum sentence - 7 and half to 15 years in prison - according to the the Oneida County District Attorney's Office.

The nine-month old child first went missing at some point in late May, however no report was made with police until about two weeks later.

Wameling's initial story included a claim that the child had been abducted, however, the story officially changed with a letter he penned to the Utica Observer Dispatch's Rocco LaDuca in which he stated the child died in his sleep.

Levon's body was recovered from the Mohawk River in early September. A medical examiner determined the child had suffered a skull fracture.
