Kobe Bryant and Gotye Mocked in Hilarious ‘Kobe That I Used to Know’ Parody
For much of his career, Kobe Bryant was the only player Los Angeles Lakers’ fans wanted to see with the ball in the fourth quarter of close games. But age has caught up to the 33-year-old, and the Laker faithful have begun to bemoan Kobe’s late game ball-hogging ways. In short, he’s no longer the Kobe that they used to know.
Sound familiar? A Laker fan named Dan Rib has recorded a song called ‘The Kobe That We Used To Know,’ which is a parody of the ubiquitous Gotye hit ‘Somebody That I Used To Know.‘ Listen to the musical slam below.
Here are just some of the lyrics:
But you didn’t have to take that shot / Just drive the lane and dump it off to either Pau or Bynum / Those two guys are really tall / And when you keep it for yourself we never score enough / You didn’t have to hog the ball…You’re really not the Kobe that we used to know…”
Pretty harsh stuff. And since Kobe is never one to back down from a challenge, expect some sort of response from the Black Mamba. For comedic purposes, we really hope it comes in rap form.
