Louisville, KY (WIBX) - Despite a combined 41 points from Syracuse guards Brandon Triche and Scoop Jardine, the 13th-ranked Orange couldn't rally for a road win against No.15 Louisville. The Cardinals held on for the win 73-69.

Syracuse crawled back to within three points with 90 seconds to play after falling behind by 20 points just a few minutes into second half.

Cardinals guard Kyle Kuric had the hot hand on Saturday, shooting 5 of 7 from three-point range, finishing with 23 points. Preston Knowles added 22 points. All of Knowles seven field goals were 3-pointers. As a team, Louisville (19-6, 8-4 Big East) made 13 of 27 three-point attempts.

Syracuse (20-6, 7-6 Big East) has lost back-to-back games, and six of the last eight games.

Kris Joseph had just 9 points for the Orange while Rick Jackson could only muster 7 points. Triche finished with 21, Jardine added 20.

The Orange return home to host unranked West Virginia on Monday night.
