Another case of "Triple E," or Eastern Equine Encephalitis, has now been confirmed in New York.

Samples taken from water at a site on Moore Road in Sullivan, New York on July 16, 2015 have tested positive for the virus that causes the disease.  The type of mosquito affected has been identified by health officials as being a primarily bird-biting type.  And, although infection of human beings is rare, the Madison County Health Department advises residents to try to avoid all mosquito bites.

This is the second case of Triple E confirmed in Central New York so far this year  The first was reported near the Cicero Swamp in Onondaga County.
