Wampsville, NY (WIBX) - The Madison County Sheriff's Office will be adding another four-legged member to its ranks.A $50,000 grant from the State Office of Homeland Security will allow the Sheriff's Office to expand its K9 services.

The new K9 will be trained for explosives detection, along with tracking and other police operations.

The money will allow for the purchase of the dog, the acquisition of an SUV to transport the dog and its handler, training and special equipment.

The Sheriff's Office already has a German Sheppard named "Lida" who's trained in narcotics detection.
