JOHNSBURG, N.Y. (AP) — Police say a 76-year-old man has died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound after he fatally shot his 71-year-old brother inside the Adirondack home they shared.

The Warren County Sheriff's Office says 911 dispatchers received a call around 3 p.m. Wednesday from Dennis and George Puglisi's (ph-GLEE'-seez) home in the town of Johnsburg, 65 miles north of Albany.

Officials say the caller said he had just killed his 71-year-old brother with a handgun and was going to take his own life. When officers arrived, they found Dennis Puglisi dead from a gunshot wound to the head.

George Puglisi was found unconscious with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. Police say he was airlifted to Albany Medical Center, where he died around 6 p.m.
