Man Injured In Tractor-Trailer Accident

New York Mills, NY (WIBX) - A Utica man was injured in a two-vehicle accident on Commercial Drive.

Whitestown Police say the accident happened yesterday afternoon in the area of Steet Toyota and involved a tractor-trailer.

Police say 35-year old David Swan of Palos Hills, Illinois was exiting Arctic Frozen Foods after making a delivery and his trailer was hit by a car driven by 28-year old Sebastian DiCesare of Utica.

DiCesare's vehicle became lodged under the tractor-trailer, trapping him inside.

Members of the New York Mills, Yorkville and Whitesboro Fire Departments worked for over an hour to free DiCesare.

He was taken to St. Elizabeth Medical Center with non-life threatening injures.

Swan was not injured.

Swan was ticketed for failure to yield the right of way while DiCesare was issued tickets for unsafe speed, unsafe lane change and for not wearing a seatbelt.
