Maria Sharapova Wins French Open [PHOTOS]

Russian champion Maria Sharapova has just won the French Open.

Sharapova beat SImona Halep of Romania 6-4, 6-7 (5-7), and 6-4.

The three sets lasted just about three hours.

The 27-year old beat the 22-year old Halep after Sharapova worked her way back from a difficult year which included a shoulder injury and a loss at Wimbledon.

The win marks Sharapova's second French Open title and her fifth Grand Slam.
