Mohawk Woman Charged With Welfare Fraud
A Mohawk woman has been arrested following an investigation by the Herkimer County Sheriff's Office Welfare Fraud Unit.
A 58-year old woman is facing charges of welfare fraud and grand larceny.
Police say she allegedly received over $2,752 in New York State Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits she was not entitled to from September 2015 to November 2016.
The individual was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Herkimer Court.
[UPDATE: 11-20-17] The Herkimer County Court is reporting that all charges have been dismissed in the case.
