The Observer-Dispatch has postponed its 200th Anniversary Birthday Bash that was scheduled to take place tomorrow due to an inclement weather forecast.

OD Marketing and Events Manager Katie Giacovelli says after consulting with local meteorologists, they were strongly advised to postpone the event because of anticipated heavy rain and thunderstorms on Saturday.

“A lot of time and effort went into the planning of this celebration, and we want to make sure the quality and magnitude of the event is not compromised,” Giacovelli said. “Nor do we want to jeopardize the safety of our guests and all who are involved in staging it. It will be rescheduled for a later date, which we will announce as soon as it has been determined.”

The bicentennial birthday bash will be re-scheduled.
