One Person Killed In Accident On Route 20 In Sangerfield [UPDATE]

One person is dead following an accident on Route 20 in the Town of Sangerfield.

It happened just after 10:00 this morning near Janis Road.

Route 20 between Route 8 and Route 12 is closed in both directions.

We'll bring you more information as it becomes available.

UPDATED 8/10 2:35 pm -  State Police have identified the victim as 72-year old MaryAnne Smith of West Winfield, who was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver of the other vehicle, 22-year old Matthew Neal of North Pitcher, NY, sustained minor injuries.

The investigation is continuing.
