Oneida County Budget Approved
Utica, NY (WIBX) - By a vote of 28-1, the Oneida County Board of Legislators has passed the 2013 budget.
The overall $ 371-million spending plan carries a tax levy increase of 2.3-percent.
County Executive Anthony Picente's orginial budget proposal included $ 250, 000 for each the Utica and Rome libraries, but no funding for town libraries.
Legislators voted to take $49,000 from each Utica and Rome libraries and reallocate that nearly 100k to town libraries.
Legislator Dave Gordon was the lone 'no' vote on the budget.
