Utica, NY (WIBX) - A number of Oneida County lawmakers, both Republicans and Democrats, are sponsoring a resolution that would ban hydrofracking on county-owned property.

Legislators Chad Davis and Emil Paparella say too many unanswered questions still remain about the entire process.

They say there's a real need to identify, study and evaluate the environmental, financial and public health impacts that hydrofracking will have in central New York.

The proposed resolution has been drafted and is expected to go to the Ways and Means Committee on February 8th.
