The Oneida County Health Department will be holding a Point of Dispensing Exercise at Mohawk Valley Community College's Jorgensen Athletic Center Tuesday afternoon from 1:00 to 2:30.

The drill will test the department's effectiveness in distributing medication in the event of a biological attack.

This drill reminds us of the importance of preparing in advance for man-made or natural hazards that could occur in any community” said Oneida County Executive Anthony Picente..  He added, “These exercises help us to test and improve our effectiveness in getting life-saving medication to the public in real public health emergencies.”

Community members who registered to participate will take on the role of "patients" during the drill.

The Health Department would like to process at least 200 people an hour.
