Orange Collar UConn 58-55 To Advance In Big East
A strong defensive effort and 18 points from Dion Waiters helped Syracuse knock-off defending Big East Champ UConn 58-55 in quarterfinal action Thursday.
It was a sub-par offensive outing for both clubs with the Orange holding Connecticut under 35% shooting for the game while only shooting 38% themselves.
Kris Joseph and James Southerland had 10 each for 'Cuse with Brandon Triche and Fab Melo scoring 7 apiece.
Shabazz Napier led the Huskies with 15 points and Andre Drummond scoring 14.
