Syracuse, NY (WIBX) -  After being ranked No.3 in the country, the Orange fell to No.17 in the course of just two weeks. Two wins later, Syracuse (20-4, 7-4 Big East) has climbed a handful of spots back toward the single digit rankings.

The latest AP Top 25 poll released Monday had the Orange at No. 12, with Big East foes Notre Dame, Villanova, Connecticut and Georgetown filling spots 8 through 11. The ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll puts Syracuse at No. 13.

After a perfect 18-0 start to the season, Syracuse dropped back-to-back games to Pittsburgh and Villanova, at the time ranked No.4 and No.7, respectively. Then, the Orange stumbled with two more loses to unranked opponents, Seton Hall and Marquette.

They've responded with a solid road wins at No.7 UConn and USF.

The Orange host No. 11 Georgetown Wenesday night at the Carrier Dome.
