Pedestrian Struck, Sent To The Hospital

A Rome man was taken to the hospital after being struck by a vehicle on Turin Road.

The Oneida County Sheriff's Office says 33-year old Russell LaPlante was crossing the road just before 8:30 last night when he was hit.

He suffered non-life threatening injuries, including a fractured ankle and facial injuries.

The driver of the car and her passenger were not injured

Deputies say she was not at fault for the accident, but she was ticketed for operating an uninspected motor vehicle.
