WAPPINGER, N.Y. (AP) — New York State Police say they're investigating the wounding of a person who was shot during a party held at a Hudson Valley gun club.

Troopers say the shooting occurred around 10:30 p.m. Saturday during a private party being held at the Shadowbrook Gun Club located in the Dutchess County town of Wappinger, 60 miles north of New York City.

Police say a person who was attending the event was shot by an unknown assailant. The victim was taken to MidHudson Regional Hospital in Poughkeepsie for treatment of wounds that weren't considered life-threatening.

The victim's name, age and gender haven't been released by police.
