Oscar Pistorius has been found guilty of culpable homicide in the death of his girlfriend.

The finding by Judge Masipa indicates that she determined that Pistorius was "negligent" when he killed Steenkamp on February 14, 2013, despite his claim that he did so unintentionally.

In South Africa 'culpable homicide' indicates an unintentional, yet illegal, murder.

Masipa also found Pistorius not guilty of two weapons-related charges.

Sentencing is expected to take place in October.  Pistorius now faces up to fifteen years in jail.

Court was adjourned yesterday at approximately 2:30pm ET after the judge in the case, Judge Thokozile Matilda Masipa, said that the prosecution failed to prove premeditated murder, leading some to believe that Pistorius was going to be found not guilty on all guilty.
