Proctor Students Mourn Death Of Classmate

Utica, NY (WIBX) - Students at Utica's Proctor High School are mourning the death of their classmate.

According to the New York Daily News, Justin Williams, 16, was shot in the stomach last night, around 11-40 p.m., by a masked gunman who fled the scene.

Police were unable to catch the shooter and are still investigating the incident.

Officials with Proctor High School offered their condolences.

"First and foremost, our thoughts and prayers are with his family at this very difficult time, and we have been providing grief counseling for any students who need it through the day today," one official said. "We'll continue to do that, as needed."

Williams had enrolled into Proctor High School last year as a freshman, after moving to the Utica area.
