Rabid Skunk Found In Herkimer County

Herkimer County Public Health is reporting a confirmed case of a rabid animal in the Town of Manheim.

Officials say a skunk sent to the Wadsworth Lab in Albany tested postiive for the rabies virus.  The skunk was seen attacking a calf.

Residents are being reminded to make sure their pets are up to date on their rabies vaccinations.
