Henrik Lundqvist's back to back to shutouts in Games 6 and 7 have the Rangers advancing to the Eastern Conference Semifinals to take on the Boston Bruins.

Lundy stopped all 35 shots he faced and had plenty of support - unlike Sunday's 1-0 win in Game 6 - as the Blue Shirts tore apart Washington's Braden Holtby for a 5-0 win on Monday night.

It marks the second year in a row the Rangers have eliminated the Capitals, third consecutive year postseason the two teams have faced off.

Aaron Asham started the scoring with a goal in the first, with an assist from Chris Kreider.

Taylor Pyatt got his first goal of the playoffs, stuffing a deflected pass past Holtby to extend the lead to 2-0, before Michael Del Zotto scored just minutes later to make it 3-0 New York.

Ryan Callahan and Mats Zuccarello each light the lamp in the third to close it out.

Steve Eminger and Derick Brassard were each credited with two assists.

The sixth seeded Rangers will meet the Bruins (fourth seed) for the first time in the playoffs in 40 years - after Boston had its own exciting Game 7 on Monday night. Trailing 4-1 in the third period, the 2011 league champions rallied to tie in in the final minute of regulation then grabbed a goal in OT for the 5-4 victory.
