Utica, NY (WIBX) - This year, the 7th Annual ALS Walk and Run was another hit. Organizers say the event raised $107,364 that will go toward making the lives of area residents suffering from the disease more comfortable.

823 people attended the event over the weekend at SUNY IT Campus Center in Marcy. Also, the winner of the Luckiest Fan raffle is Dawn Allamon of Rome. The sold out raffle packet includes a $2,000 cash prize, and an all inclusive luxury bus round trip for 28 people to see a baseball game between the New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox on September 24th.

Researcher are still working to find a cure for ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease.
