A ribbon cutting ceremony was held on Wednesday to formally open the New York State Technology Enterprises Corporation's new corporate headquarters at the Griffiss Business and Technology Park in Rome.

Construction of the two story building cost more than $8.5 million dollars.

The 32,000 square foot building includes nearly 17,000 square feet of space leased to NYSTEC, with the rest of the building leased to Booz Allen Hamilton.

NYSTEC employs more than 185 data scientists, network engineers and cybersecurity experts across New York State.

“Our new headquarters building is further evidence that the Griffiss Business and Technology Park is center to the Mohawk Valley’s workforce expansion and high-tech ecosystem,” said NYSTEC President and CEO Mike Walsh. “NYSTEC was born and raised in Rome. We are proud that our headquarters building can serve as a technology hub, a home for engaged regional community leaders, and a local office for innovative global companies like Booz Allen Hamilton.”

They expect to double their Rome-based employment over the next three years.

Empire State Development provided a $1.1 million grant to the Griffiss Local Development Corporation to support the project.
