Congressman Paul Ryan has been nominated to be the next Speaker of the House.

In a closed-door meeting of House Republicans today, Ryan was formally nominated with 200 of his colleagues voting for him and 43 voting for Florida Congressman Daniel Webster.

Speaking to reporters, the Wisconsin Republican says the nomination begins a new day in the House. He's expected to be confirmed by the full House tomorrow.

Ryan promised that during his speakership, the House will look much different than it did during outgoing Speaker John Boehner's tenure.
