Chief Operating Officer Robert Scholefield has been appointed to a new role with Mohawk Valley Health System.

Scholefield has been named executive vice president of Facilities and Real Estate for MVHS.

He'll be responsible for overseeing the construction of the new hospital in downtown Utica.

“Over the past few years, Bob has been leading MVHS’s effort on preparing for the building of our new medical center,” said MVHS President/CEO Darlene Stromstad.  “He knows more about this project than anyone, and has a deep understanding of the complicated regulatory, political and construction components involved. A project of this magnitude, which will forever strengthen healthcare in this region and provide a significant economic boom to our community, requires, and deserves, the full time, focused attention of an experienced senior leader.”

A national search for a new chief operating officer for MVHS is underway.
