Schumer Urging Taxpayers To Claim Funds

Washington, DC (WIBX) - New York Senator Charles Schumer is urging people who have not yet filed their 2008 tax returns to get them done.

Any refunds from that year will expire on the three-year deadline April 15, 2012.

Schumer says almost 180 Central New Yorkers are owed refunds averaging $686. If it's not claimed by the 15th it stays in Washington for good.
