Seat Belt Violation Leads To Cocaine Possession Arrest
A Poland man is behind bars after a seat belt violation led to a drug possession arrest.
State Police say they conducted a traffic stop on State Route 12 in Trenton due to the driver's failure to wear a safety belt.
Upon further investigation, Troopers discovered a plastic bag inside the car filled with approximately 28 grams of cocaine and a vape cartridge of cannabis oil.
The driver, 31-year-old Ryan Barnard of Poland, was also driving on revoked privileges after failing to answer a summons.
Barnard is facing several charges including Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation and several other vehicle and traffic violations.
He is being held at Oneida County Jail on $15,000 cash bail or $45,000 bond.
