Seatbelt Usage Prevents Serious Injuries

Two people are alive following a head on collision, thanks to seatbelts.

The Oneida County Sheriff's Office says 20-year old Rachell Perkins of Pulaski was struck head on by a pickup truck on Route 69 in Taberg Sunday afternoon.

They say 18-year old Daniel Mckeown of Rome lost control of the truck on the snow covered road and crossed into the oncoming lane.

The Sheriff's Office says Perkins and Mckewon were not injured as the result of proper seat belts use

Both vehicles were heavily damaged.

Mckeown was issued a summons for failing to keep right.
