Oneida County Sheriff Rob Maciol has unveiled the Sheriff's Office's new Community Affairs Unit.

Maciol announced the initiative during his State of the Sheriff's Address at Utica College.

Assigned to the unit are Lt. James Paravati, Sgt. Terrence Gilbert and Deputy Fred Lomanto.

The unit will support community programs like Safe Child Identification, Yellow Dot and Project Lifesaver.

The Community Affairs Unit will also manage the agency's accreditation programs, training, School Resource Officer programs and domestic incident follow-up.
