Sheriff’s Office Assisting With Bridge Collapse In Verona

The Oneida County Sheriff's Office is assisting the State Department of Transportation and the State Canal Corp with an imminent bridge collapse over the Erie Canal.

The Sheriff's Marine Patrol is on the scene on Higginsville Road in the Town of Verona assuring boats do not go under the bridge.

The Sylvan Beach Fire Department helped Oneida County Marine Patrol with shutting down canal traffic.

Oneida County Emergency Services and Oneida DPW are also on the scene.
