State Police Arrest 110 People For DWI Over Super Bowl Weekend
State Police issued more than 4,000 tickets during a special STOP DWI traffic enforcement campaign over Super Bowl Weekend.
110 people were arrested for DWI , while over 1,400 tickets were issued for speeding.
Here is a sampling of the total tickets that were issued:
- 1,424 - Speeding
- 61 - Distracted Driving
- 80 - Seatbelt violations
- 43 - Move Over Law
State Police Superintendent George Beach said, "Highway safety is a priority for the State Police, and we will not tolerate reckless and impaired drivers. If you drink, make alternate plans for a ride home, or you can expect to be arrested by a State Trooper or one of our local law enforcement partners."
The increased patrols and sobriety checkpoints were held February 4th through the 6th.
