We all had hoped for a much better outcome on Sunday night, but Team USA and Canada put on a show at the Adirondack Bank Center that might never be duplicated. It truly will go down in history as one of the most exciting hockey games I've ever seen.
In a women's international game that went back and forth with exchanging leads, Team USA and Canada are tied at the end of regulation in the IIHC World Championships. Team USA and Canada are tied 5-5 after 3 periods at the Adirondack Bank Center in Utica.
This past Saturday night, the United States Women's Hockey team faced-off in an epic battle on ice at the Adirondack Bank Center. There's a good chance, the two teams will meet each other for the IIHF World Championship on Sunday. I feel, we're witnessing the re-birth of the Utica-Rome Mohawk Valley region after decades of decline.
It was a record crowd and an electricity rarely seen inside the Adirondack Bank Center as 4,017 fans packed-in to see Team USA and Canada skate to a 0-0 tie in regulation in their final preliminary game at the IIHF Women's World Championships in Utica. The American's would ultimately win the game 1-0 in OT.
Team USA defeated Finland by a score of 5-3 on Saturday night at the Adirondack Bank Center. The game was a nail-biter as Finland, which had only scored one goal in its previous games, came out of the gate scoring. Team USA scored its third straight preliminary round victory ahead of their big face-off against Canada on Monday night, the final preliminary tournament game.
It was another dominating win on Friday night at the Adirondack Bank Center in Utica as Team USA shutout Czechia by a score of 6-0. The shutout victory came despite 7 Czechia power plays as goalie Nicole Hensley of Colorado stopped all 19 shots made by Czechia.
The United States Olympic Women's Hockey Team arrived at the Turning Stone Resort and Casino in Verona on Monday night ahead of the IIHF Women's World Championship starting Wednesday in Utica.
