Two women are facing charges following two separate investigations by the Herkimer County Sheriff's Office Welfare Fraud Unit.

24-year old Danielle Herring of Herkimer is accused of applying for benefits with the Herkimer County Social Services Department and failing to disclose she had already been disqualified from receiving benefits due to a violation in North Carolina.

Herring was charged with offering a false instrument for filing.

35-year old Tiffany Lamoy of Cold Brook was charged with grand larceny and welfare fraud.

Authorities say Lamoy allegedly received nearly $3,000 in HEAP benefits and over $1,000 in SNAP benefits she was not entitled to.
