Utica, NY (WIBX) - Utica police need your help with their investigation into another report of shots being fired in the city limits. Last night, around 6:40, police were called to the 1500 block of Neilson Street and spoke to a resident who reported that he heard three gunshots going off. He also told police that his home sustained damaged from the gunshot blasts.

According to the resident, a large group of black males were congregated around his house at the time of the incident. UPD is asking anyone with knowledge of the incident to contact them at (315) 223-3584. They say all calls will remain anonymous. This is the 9th report of shots being fired in the city in less than two weeks.

During the week of March 18 - 25th, UPD responded to a total of eight shots fired calls at the following locations:

  • March 18 - Eagle Street & Hammond Avenue
  • March 18 - 300 block of Blandina Street
  • March 18 - 1600 block of West Street
  • March 19 - Steuben Park
  • March 23 - 900 block of Catherine Street
  • March 24 - 700 block of Crabapple Avenue
  • March 24 - 1500 block of Genesee Street
  • March 25 - 1300 block of Catherine Street
  • March 29 - 1500 block of Neilson Street
