Stamford Man Dies in Off-Road Vehicle Crash

Delaware County Sheriff’s officials are investigating the death of the driver of an off-road vehicle in the Town of Stamford.

Deputies say some all terrain Vehicle riders reported finding a man dead on an ATV trail at around 12:30 a.m. September 25.

Authorities say 27 year old Daniel Reed of Stamford was apparently thrown from his side-by-side utility vehicle when he lost control and it overturned.

Investigators say Reed was not wearing a seatbelt when he was ejected from the vehicle, suffering fatal injuries.

Deputies say the investigation is continuing but it’s believed excessive speed and failure to wear a seat belt contributed.
