Upstate Teen Charged In Accidental Fatal Shooting Of Friend
EAST AURORA, N.Y. (AP) — A 19-year-old man has been accused of the accidental fatal shooting of his friend inside a western New York home.
The Erie County Sheriff's Office says deputies were called to a home in the town of Elma around 8:40 p.m. Sunday for reports of a man who had been shot in the abdomen. Deputies say the victim, a 19-year-old friend of Jake Klocek, died from his wounds after being taken to a Buffalo hospital.
The victim's name hasn't been released.
Police say the shooting was accidental.
Deputies say Klocek, of East Aurora, was charged with manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon. He was arraigned Monday afternoon and released from the county jail after posting $50,000 bail.
It couldn't be determined if he has a lawyer who could comment on the charges.
