Utica Democrats Make Endorsements For City, County Races

Utica, NY (WIBX) - The City of Utica Democratic Committee met Monday night to endorse candidates for city and county races.

 

According to chairman Mitch Ford, Robert Palmieri received the party's endorsement for mayor, while current city council president William Morehouse was endorsed to run for re-election. Current second ward councilman Jim Zecca will likely primary Morehouse for the party line on Election Day.

 

The following candidates have been endorsed for council races:

 

1st Ward- Frank Vescera

2nd Ward- Larry Tanoury Jr.

3rd Ward- Mathew Cavaretta

4th Ward- Joseph Marino

5th Ward- Jermone McKinsey

6th Ward- Lorraine Arcuri

At-large- Jerry Kraus, Ed Bucciero, and Frank Meola

 

*Marino received the committee's backing over incumbent councilwoman Joan Scalise, who is seeking re-election.
