Utica Rome Unemployment Rate Down Over A Point In September

The New York State Department of Labor has released area unemployment numbers for September.

The unemployment rate in the Utica-Rome area was down over a full point, from 4.9 percent in September 2017 to 3.8 percent last month.

Officials say the rates in all 62 counties were  lower than they were in September 2017

The state's unemployment rate decreased from 4.2 percent to 4.1 percent in September.

Meanwhile, from September 2017 to September 2018, the State’s private sector job count increased by 109,500
