It opened its doors in May of 1914.

Union Station in Utica is celebrating its 100th anniversary.

Oneida County Executive Anthony Picente unveiled two plaques at Union Station this morning, including one from the National Railway Historical Society.

Picente says it's a moment to acknowledge and appreciate the history that has taken place at Union Station.

A weekend of celebration will include the enhanced Oneida County Public Market on Saturday and a Steam Engine Gala hosted by the Landmarks Society of Greater Utica on Saturday night.

The gala will take place from 6:30 until 11:00.
