Woman Found Dead In Central New York Motel Lot Was Homicide Victim

DEWITT, N.Y. (AP) — Authorities in central New York have ruled the death of a woman found in a suburban Syracuse motel parking lot a homicide.

The Onondaga County Sheriff's Office says deputies responded to a call from the Motel 6 in the town of DeWitt around 1 a.m. Tuesday. Police say they found a dead woman in the parking lot when they arrived at the scene.

The death had initially been labeled "suspicious."

Sheriff Eugene Conway has scheduled a news conference for 10 a.m. Wednesday to discuss the case.
