There have been a lot of Batman vs. Superman rumors floating around there on the internet. So far, we’ve heard rumors about Lex Luthor, Barbara Gordon, Doomsday, General Zod w/ Flipper Hands, The Joker, Jimmy Olsen and much more. But, none of those rumors are as ridiculous as the one Zack Snyder heard about Robin and he’s here to tell you it’s bulls——.

Yahoo! caught up with Snyder to talk about Doritos (seriously), but once they were done talking about orange-powdered corn chips, they got talking about Batman vs. Superman. Synder mostly didn’t have anything Earth-shattering to say about the film (“To me it’s about the drama, the humanity of it…”), but when he was asked what the most ridiculous Batman vs. Superman rumor he’s read was, he couldn’t resist.

There’s a rumor that my son is [playing] Robin. It’s not true. Now there are all these images of him that people have made where he’s dressed like Robin. It’s fun to hear and see them.

Back in July there were rumors that Snyder’s 18-year-old son Eli would be playing Robin in a flashback sequence. That may sound a little strange, but young Eli has made cameos in his father’s films before, appearing as young Leonidas in 300 and young Rorschach in Watchmen. And Snyder had some fun with, posting a photo of him with his son to Instagram with the caption, “Boy wonder?” So it wasn’t that far out of the realm of possibility, but now Snyder says it’s not true at all. Not that Snyder minds all the rumormongering:

There are so many [rumors], it’s insanity. It’s funny because every now and then someone will touch on something that’s kind of true, but the next thing they say makes me realize that they took a wild guess. They’ll say something and I’ll say “Oh snap, they must have seen the script.” And then they’ll say, “And this happens!” And then I’ll go, They have no idea what they’re talking about.

Interestingly, Snyder didn’t debunk that Robin will appear in the film, just that he won’t be played by his son. We know from the trailer (and the shot above) that Robin existed in the Batman vs. Superman universe and was killed by The Joker. We’ve heard rumors that we’ll see this in a flashback sequence that haunts Bruce Wayne, but so far there has been no confirmation, and Snyder wasn’t ready to give fans that confirmation today.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice hits theaters on March 25, 2016.
