Amish Kidnappers Sentenced To Life In Prison
A man and woman involved in the kidnapping and sexual abuse of two Amish girls in northern New York were sentenced today in federal court in Syracuse.
Nicole Vaisey and her boyfriend, Stephen Howells, were both sentenced to lifetime prison terms. Howells was sentenced to the maximum 580-years and Vaisey was sentenced to 300 years.
Vaisey and Howells admitted in state and federal courts that they kidnapped the two girls and have sexually exploited six children altogether.
United States Attorney Richard Hartunian said: “The sentences imposed today are a reflection of the monstrous crimes committed by Stephen Howells and Nicole Vaisey against the most vulnerable among us – our children. Howells and Vaisey will never be able to abduct, drug, and sexually abuse children again. Our hearts go out to the six children victimized by Howells and Vaisey, and to all children who are subject to sexual exploitation.
