ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — Republican lawmakers in the state Assembly have released a report on New York's crumbling infrastructure and transportation systems.

The chamber's minority conference started gathering information on the subject during a series of eight regional forums held last year across the state. They heard from local public works officials, construction industry leaders and state highway representatives.

GOP lawmakers say the resulting 32-page report offers a comprehensive picture of the infrastructure woes facing New York state now and in the future.

Assembly Republicans say they'll push for funding parity between the five-year capital programs for the state Department of Transportation and the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, which runs New York City's public transit system.

Other GOP proposals include increasing funding for the state's street and highway improvement program by $100 million a year.
