Authorities Identify NY Men Who Died On Fishing Trip
GOLDENS BRIDGE, N.Y. (AP) — Authorities have released the names of two men who died during a New Year's Eve fishing trip in a suburban New York reservoir.
The Journal News says Ngan We Kong of Brooklyn and Weitao Ma of Staten Island had gone fishing on Monday afternoon in the Muscoot Reservoir in Goldens Bridge. Another fisherman found their overturned aluminum rowboat on Tuesday morning.
State police Capt. David Atkins says the victims were wearing life jackets when they fell into the bitterly cold water. Atkins says the men's bodies were between the boat and the shoreline, indicating they were trying to get to safety.
