Chobani Yogurt is giving its full-time workers a stake in the company.

According to the "New York Times," 2,000 employees were handed envelopes today containing Chobani shares worth an average of about $150,000.

Hamdi Ulukaya, the Turkish immigrant who founded the company, told the paper his goal is to pass along the wealth his employees have helped build.

Ulukaya started Chobani in 2005 when he got a small business loan to buy a former Kraft yogurt plant in New Berlin.
