Utica Dollars for Scholars is celebrating 25 years of distributing scholarships to local high school students.

They're also expanding their partnership with the Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties by increasing the number of scholarships awarded by the Foundation to 25.  The Community Foundation previously provided five awards.

In addition to partnering with The Community Foundation, UDFS maintains relationships with local businesses, families, service organizations, and individual donors that help establish annual awards and special funds to recognize excellence and future potential in students.

Several college scholarships will be available to qualifying graduating seniors at local high schools this year including Camden, Sauquoit, Herkimer, Poland, Waterville, Rome, and Proctor high schools.

Since 1994, Dollars for Scholars has awarded over $1 million to local students.

The application deadline for 2019 is March 15th and students from high schools in Oneida and Herkimer Counties are encouraged to apply.

Students can apply at utica.dollarsforscholars.org.
