Fifth Man Involved In Utica New Year’s Assault Turns Himself In
Utica, NY (WIBX) - The fifth man involved in an alleged New Year's Day assault has turned himself in to Utica Police.
Officers had been looking for 18 year-old Benjamin Verenich of Irving Place, who had been involved in a fight on Spring Street.
During the attack, a man was struck over the head with a glass bottle, then kicked and punched while his wife and several others were also beaten by a group of people.
Five people were responsible for the attack, with four already taken into custody, but Verenich was still wanted.
Verenich is charged with felony and misdemeanor counts of assault.
