A pair of lawmakers are proposing legislation to expand access to Pre-K programs.

Senator Kirsten Gillibrand and Congressman Richard Hanna were at Herkimer Elementary School today to announce The Strong Start for America's Children Act.

The legislation would boost funding for high-quality preschool programs for low and moderate-income families.

It would also increase the quality of infant and toddler care offered by providers and support broad-scale quality improvements to child care programs.

Gillibrand and Hanna say by making sure America’s children have a strong start, we can ensure America has a strong future.
