Former Oneida County Legislator David Gordon has formed an exploratory committee for a possible run for Congress in the 22nd District.

Gordon, a Democrat, was elected to the County Legislature in 2011.  Gordon, who ranked number 1 out of 29 Legislators during his term by the Oneida County Conservative Party as the most Conservative Legislator,  says that he hopes his Conservative record will bode well with voters in the 22nd if he decides to run.

“The district constantly elects Moderate Republicans. How about electing a Conservative Democrat?”

Gordon says over the next few months, he'll be doing comprehensive polling to determine if he will seek the office.

Assemblywoman Claudia Tenney has announced she'll challenge incumbent Richard Hanna in the June 2016 GOP Primary.

Hanna has yet to officially announce plans to seek re-election.
